What Does the Deplorable Word Mean?

The word deplorable is one of those words that can have different meanings in different situations. While it has a negative meaning when used as a term of endearment or affection, it can also mean something else entirely. In certain circumstances, the word can mean being irate or resentful. While most of us have some kind of negative reaction to some people, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are “disorderly” or “disgrumpy”. We all come to a point with certain people where we feel like we just want to slap them across the face or jump off a bridge.

One common explanation given for the negative connotation: of this word is that it comes from the words devil and anti-hero. Now, the devil might not be anything more than a jerk, but anti-heroes by definition don’t have superpowers. So, while you can be a jerk and still have a positive personality, being an anti-hero is a different story. One thing about the word, however, is that it can be used as a compliment. If someone is being too hard on someone, calling them deplorable or even nasty might just work as a compliment to their character. It might even make them feel better about themselves!

In terms of a job interview: calling someone ignorant or irresponsible is also a compliment in many cases. You’re trying to get someone in a job, and often using a tasteless insult will work in your favor. Calling a person stupid or dumb only makes you look bad, but it’s not going to get you anywhere. You have to state the truth, and sometimes that means saying something mean.

Another explanation is that the word is used so often – that it has become a swear word. You wouldn’t say something like I wish someone would go back to where they came from now would you? Of course not, so what does the word mean nowadays? Well, depending on who you are talking to, it could mean something like callous, disgusting, or mean. That’s all it really means.

So when someone says something like – “you’re such a pompous jerk,” what does that mean to you? That may mean that the person is somewhat rich, while to someone else it may simply mean that they have poor morals. But it’s really up to you to understand what does the word mean. The fact of the matter is that it’s a word, and as with any other word, it’s up to each individual to use it according to what works for them.

What does the word deplorable mean? In the end, it’s simply up to each individual to decide what does the word mean to them and what does not. In the end, most people don’t care, as long as you don’t call them names in public or slander them in any way. That’s all that really matters, isn’t it?
